Dino Ciani Academy
Cortina d’Ampezzo
July 24 – August 7, 2010

The mission of the “Accademia Dino Ciani” is to give young, outstanding, international artists the opportunity to develop their skills, to work on repertoire, to live and breathe in an atmosphere of collegial musicianship, and to extend their results onto the concert stage.

The “Accademia Dino Ciani” will take place in Cortina d’Ampezzo during the Dino Ciani Festival from July 24th to August 7th 2011. The course will bring together young pianists and violinists with professors, musicologists and professional musicians. During this period, students will take masterclasses, attend concerts and lectures and perform in concerts in Cortina and in the surrounding towns.

This year, the Academy introduces the Mahler / Schumann Workshop with Claudio Desderi. During the second week of the Festival each young pianist will have the opportunity to work with and accompany the Academy singers. All pianists should be prepared to play a few lieder from the Schumann cycles  Frauenliebe und Leben and Dichterliebe and from Mahler’s Des Knaben Wunderhorn.

The following teachers will be in Cortina d’Ampezzo in 2010:
Pietro De Maria, July 25th – 31th
Jerome Rose, August 3nd – 7th
Jeffrey Swann, July 25th – August 8th
Claudio Martinez Mehner, July 25th – August 8th
