Beethoven in Context: Jeffrey Swann’s Interactive Lecture Series July 16th-25th 2020Read all
From 2007 to 2016 the Dino Ciani Festival in Cortina presented some of the greatest performers in the world of classical music, offering extraordinary concerts amidst the incomparable natural beauty of the Dolomites. Featured artists have included, among others, Piotr Anderszewski, Martha Argerich, Yuri Bashmet, Mario Brunello, Kathia Buniatishvili, the Cuarteto Casals, Gidon Kremer, András Schiff, Grigory Sokolov, Uto Ughi and Krystian Zimerman.
With the aim of nurturing new talent, the Festival included an Academy that offers special training and performance opportunities for young musicians from all over the world. Young artists that come to Cortina, are able to enroll in Master Classes offered by virtuoso teachers and perform in various concerts within the Festival.
In 2020 the Dino Ciani Academy opens its doors once again to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Beethoven’s birth, offering eleven young pianists the opportunity to explore the piano works of Beethoven in an intensive 10-day masterclass with internationally-acclaimed artist Jeffrey Swann. One of the first of its kind, the Beethoven Piano Masterclass will take place entirely online using one of the internet’s most advanced platforms for classical musicians, mfclassrooms.com.
Jeffrey Swann has been Artistic Director since its inception.
